Richard Louis Fox
Richard Louis Fox passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Richard was born on April 28, 1937. He is predeceased by his parents, Melvin Fox and Ruth (Pincus) Fox, and by his sister, Joanne (Fox) Jacobson, of New York/Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lina (Raymond) Fox. He leaves behind his two much loved sons, Matthew Fox of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Christopher Fox of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, as well as a stepson, Justin Sandock of Seattle, Washington; a niece, Jenny Hellman of New York; nephews J.R. Hellman of Boca Raton, Florida, and Dexter Nicholson of New York.
Richard attended the Belvidere School in Lowell, Massachusetts, and went on to the Middlesex School of Concord, Massachusetts, where he graduated in 1954. He then went on to attend Harvard College and graduated in 1958. Richard then continued his study of law at the University North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and graduated in 1961. He earned his J.D.
After law school, Richard served his country as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964.
For many years, Richard was a member of the Greater Lowell Bar Association and practiced law in Lowell and Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
Richard, also known as Dick by his many friends, was a member of Vesper Country Club for more than 50 years. He had a deep passion for golf and forged many lifelong friendships and fond memories while playing the game he loved.
Richard and Lina enjoyed their winters in Boynton Beach, Florida, with their friends, The Zoinos family.
In his later years, Richard enjoyed taking classes for seniors at the University of Massachusetts. He was a history buff. You could always find him reading something on his phone or find him with his nose in a book. He also had a keen interest in politics.
Relatives and friends are invited to Richard’s celebration of life on Saturday, July 16, 2022, beginning at 2 p.m., at Lenzi’s Catering and Tavern, 810 Merrimack Ave., Dracut, Massachusetts. Face masks are required.
