George Alphonso Murphy

George Alphonso Murphy, 79, of Milford, NH sorrowfully passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

George was born on August 12, 1942, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to Amples and Irene (Hale) Murphy, as the 3rd child of 8 children. He was a 1960 graduate of Crispus Attucks High School and was a Retired USN Commander and Retired Marketing Consultant. George has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems from Daniel Webster College and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Boston University.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Charlotte; his daughter Charita (Murphy) Ughu; his grandsons Ronald Jared “RJay” Murphy, Emmanuel Ughu, Jr. (EJ or “Junior”), and Alphonso Ughu, all of Milford, NH. George is predeceased by his brother, Virgil Hale; his sisters Marilyn Blackmon and Ilean Brown. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy “Nadene” Murphy, and Birdie Mae Anderson, both of Nashville, TN; his sister Kathylyn Redd of Hopkinsville, KY; and his sister Regina Doyle of Oxford, NC; a whole host of nieces, and nephews and loving cousins.

Visiting hours are on Tuesday, June 21st from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd at 10:00 am in the First Congregational Church of Milford, 10 Union Street, Milford.
