Barbara Ann (Cumming) Messier

Barbara Ann (Cumming) Messier, 87, of Nashua passed away on June 6, 2022 at her home with family by her side, after a period of illness.

Daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice (Legay) Cumming, she was married for 36 years to the late Donald Messier until his passing in 1991.

In her spare time, she enjoyed photography and writing poetry. A favorite place to visit was Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor, Maine.

Barbara is survived by a sister, June Prescott of Milbridge, Maine, daughters Lucille Sullivan of Milford, Caroline and her husband Mark Russon of Nashua, Catherine and her husband Mark Lozeau of Milford, Jacqueline Messier of Nashua, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nephews and nieces and Goddaughter Cynthia Cumming.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother James Cumming, two sisters, Bernice “Bunny” Whitworth and Muriel Nichols, daughter Jeannette Pelletier and son Christopher Messier.

There are no calling hours; a private family gathering will be held.
