Lorraine M. Erion (Gebhart)

May 12, 2022

Lorraine M. Erion (Gebhart), 77, of Amherst, formerly of Nashua, passed away following years of declining health on May 3rd, with her devoted daughter, Marcy, by her side. She was known to many as Lorri, Lala or Yaya, depending on when you were lucky enough to know her.

Lorri grew up on Port Washington (Long Island) NY, the daughter of Rudy & Ethel Gebhart. She lived on a quaint street, surrounded by other large families and lots of activities. She later attended/graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH. While spending time in New London, she met her former husband, Don. They married and had three children; Marcy, Jim & Lisa, and settled in Nashua.

In earlier years, Lorri was an avid tennis player and enjoyed spending time at Nashua Swim & Tennis with her young family. Once her children got involved in sports, that became her focus; she would fondly recall dinners spent in the family station wagon, as she chauffeured them to each of their respective sporting events. Outside of sports, the family spent summers at Lake Sunapee, where many happy memories were made.

Once her children were older, “Lala”, as she was known to her vast groups of friends, enjoyed traveling, bridge and eventually starting her own interior design business. Her business grew, while never advertising, as referrals simply spread by word of mouth. Her success wasn’t surprising, given Lala’s friend base, innate talent and personality. Another passion of Lala’s was the Home, Health & Hospice Golf Tournament, where she helped to organize volunteers for their annual golf tournament for many years.

Anyone who knew Lorri, knew that the next stage of her life was the most meaningful to her, when she became “Yaya” to her grandchildren. Without a doubt, they were her proudest accomplishment. As she’d done in previous years with her own children, she became a staple at their sporting events. Traveling near and far, rarely missing a game and always their biggest fan. They always knew how much she cherished them and the feeling was mutual.

Lorri is predeceased by her parents and many beloved friends. She is survived by her children; Marcy (Ron Kiesewetter) of Amherst, NH; Jim (Sarah) of Santa Ana, CA and Lisa Stone (Derek) of Plainfield, NH; grandchildren; Libby & Jackson Stone, Jay Erion, as well as her extended grandchildren (Ron’s sons) Jake, Jeff & Jeremy; siblings; Ellen Weingart (John); Neil (Maureen); Kristin Ryan (Casey) & Curt and too many friends to count.

A Gathering, to celebrate her life, will be held at the Nashua Country Club on Friday, May 20th, between 1-5pm.
