Martin T. Boggis

Apr 15, 2022

Martin T. Boggis of Rumford Maine passed away in his sleep on March 24th at 4:30pm after an aggressive battle with prostate cancer that quickly spread to his liver. He was 60 years old. His legacy and memories are carried on by the love of his life of over 34 years, Mary Madigan, and his step-children Joseph Lachiana, James Lachiana, and Danielle Madigan. He also leaves behind his mother Pauline Boggis and siblings Don, Ivy, Vint, Carl, and Greg. Marty is preceded by his father Donald, who passed February 3rd. Although cancer ultimately took his life, Marty’s selfless, humorous, and loving spirit was with him until his final day.

Born in Nashua, NH on January 29th, 1962, Marty was the fourth of six children born to Pauline and Donald Boggis. He is a graduate from Milford Area Senior High School.

Marty was a master carpenter who honed his skills over four decades and his talents were beyond compare. From frame to finish, he was a consummate artist in the wood working trade. His legacy of craftsmanship lives on in numerous houses in MA, NH and ME.

Marty’s skills especially came in handy when crafting a vast Halloween attraction enjoyed by many at their home in Andover, Massachusetts over many years. Most who know Marty agree that if stuck on a deserted island, Marty would be the one person to get you home safely. He also loved camping with friends and family, watching action movies in his theater room, and his dog Mickey.

Marty never strayed from his values, his humorous and sarcastic nature, and love for his family, which makes it all the more difficult to lose him too soon.
