Lucille Therese Catalano

Apr 12, 2022

Lucille Therese Catalano, 82, passed away on April 10, 2022, at her home in Hudson, N.H. after a life filled with love for her family and friends, and generosity for her community. She lived the last years of her life with lung cancer, which caused her death.

Lucille was born on July 1, 1939, to Henry and Cecile (Trudel) Ouellette in Lowell, Mass., the eldest daughter in a bustling home that would ultimately include nine children.

After graduating from Dracut High School in 1958, Lucille worked for many years in banks in and around Lowell and southern New Hampshire.

In 1961, after a courtship filled with dancing and outings around New England, she married Philip A. Catalano. The couple settled in Nashua, N.H., and raised three children: Michele M. Catalano, Anne Marie (Catalano) Bosher and Marc A. Catalano.

In addition to her large family, with whom she gathered at holidays and for lunch nearly every week over many decades, Lucille enjoyed a wide network of friends. She loved to bowl, hosted frequent bunco parties and was always ready with handmade gifts for occasions from births to graduations to weddings. The number of hand-crocheted blankets and Christmas stockings that grace those lucky enough to have known Lucille are too numerous to count.

Her Catholic faith was central to her life and her generosity to the local community–parishes, food banks, shelters–extended widely.

Lucille is predeceased by her husband, Philip, and siblings David Ouellette, Paul Ouellette, Raymond Ouellette, and Denise (Ouellette) Peters. She is survived by her children–Michele and husband John Healy of Seattle, WA, Anne Marie and husband Thomas Bosher of Nashville, TN, Marc and wife Jenny Catalano of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Michael Bosher, Madison Bosher, Elinor Healy Catalano, Tristan Byrd, Cole Catalano and Hadley Catalano; siblings Andre Ouellette and wife Linda, Ruth Paquette and husband Normand, Jeanne DiRocco and husband Joseph, Diane Ouellette and husband Vernon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
