Fletcher W. Seagroves Jr.

MILFORD – Fletcher W. Seagroves Jr., 79, resident of Milford, died peacefully on February 13, 2022 in Brookline, NH, surrounded by his daughters.

He was born in Nashua NH on October 23, 1942, a son of Fletcher W. Seagroves Sr. and Bertha (Davison) Seagroves.

He had been employed for Sanders Associates from 1967 until his retirement in 1994 as an electronics technician. In addition, he worked at New England Small Tube Corporation and studied at Mass Radio School, Boston, MA.

Fletcher had been a resident of Milford for more than 40 years where he was active in the community. He was a founding member of the Milford Volunteer Ambulance and served on the Zoning Board. In addition, he was a Ham radio operator with the call sign N1MEO and a member of Granite State Amateur Radio Association. Fletcher was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Benevolent Lodge # 7 F & AM, Milford, Purgatory Falls Fish & Game Club, Mont Vernon, NH, an Eagle Scout and a member of DeMolay. Fletcher was also a member of Souhegan CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), ESGR (Employee Service Ground Response), Liberty Guard Service, Emergency Coordinator for Hillsborough County and currently a member of the Office of Emergency Management. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking the rail trails.

Fletcher was a U.S. Army Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a longtime member of the Bent Burke Post # 10 American Legion, Wilton, NH and a member of the 1/172 Field Artillery Unit in Milford.

Family members include four daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle Ludwig of Meredith, NH, Mary & Lawrence Maylin of East Granby, CT, Leslie Pickett of Brookline, NH and Ann-Marie Faint of Milford, NH; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David & Mary Seagroves of Lyndeborough, NH, and Perry & Susie Seagroves of Concord, NH; several nieces and nephews; and his significant other, Barbara Garry of Bedford, NH.

Visiting hours are on Thursday, February 17th from 6:00-8:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A masonic service will be held at 7:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11:00 am followed by coffee at the Masonic Lodge, 30 Mont Vernon Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Milford Ambulance Service, 66 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
