Sandra A. (Desjarlais) Tossel

Jan 23, 2022

Sandra A. (Desjarlais) Tossel, 71, a lifelong resident of Nashua, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Sandy was born in Nashua on December 8, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Raymond G. and Jeannette C. (Bourdon) Desjarlais. She received her education in French Catholic schools and attended Nashua High School. Sandy was employed as an assembler for Teledyne Technologies and worked there over the course of decades.

Sandy loved people. She enjoyed reminiscing and laughing out loud. She will forever be remembered as the “Karaoke Queen” and for her love of singing and dancing! She was always the star of the show and the original “Life of the Party”. Her famous tunes for singing were “These Boots are Made for Walkin”, which she won a Karaoke Contest Award for and “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You”, which she was notorious for singing at family gatherings and events. She loved listening to Motown, Disco, The Oldies and classic French-Canadian songs with her son, Alex and always loved singing along when family members would play piano or guitar. She also loved going to church where she could sing the hymns out loud and with pure heart. Sandy loved to visit Hampton Beach and was a lover of animals. Growing up in a family of six girls, she was considered to be the adventurous one of her sisters. In her younger years, she enjoyed ice skating and roller skating and was always the first to be willing to try something new. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family, whom she loved deeply. Especially, her children and grandchildren. She always tried to make someone else smile by saying something funny or making a goofy comment. She was very happy-go-lucky and had a carefree “joie de vivre”, which she passed along to her children, family, friends and co-workers. She always tried to make someone else’s day brighter! She would even pay compliments to perfect strangers whom she would encounter along the way.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Boucher and her husband Jeffrey of Seekonk, MA, her five grandchildren, Anna Tossel, Alexandre “AJ” Tossel Jr., Spencer Boucher, Alannah Boucher and Hailey Boucher; and her great-grandson, Brantley Alexandre Williams. She is also survived by her four sisters, Linda Levesque of Nashua, Elaine Fenn of Vermont, Jeanne Gideon and her husband William Roy Sr. of Nashua, and Mary Barboza and her partner Todd Ray of Litchfield; her aunt Florence Bibeau Bayer of Florida; her former husband, Yvan Tossel of Vermont; her dear, lifelong friends, Karen Jean, Lorraine Frappier and Jeannie Murray, as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.

Sandy was predeceased by her son, Alexandre R. Tossel, recently on December 14, 2021, her infant daughter, Catherine Tossel, her life partner, Richard Small, her sister, Denise Levesque, and her brothers-in-law, Yvon Levesque, Norman Levesque, Mark Fenn, and George Barboza.

At the request of Sandy’s family, services will be postponed to a later determined time. Arrangements entrusted to the ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra’s name to the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter, Inc, P.O. Boc 3116, Nashua, NH 03061.
