Bronislawa Malavich Garant
Bronislawa Malavich Garant, (99), died Saturday January 8, 2022 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH. She was born on February 21, 1922, in Nashua NH, the daughter of Alexander and Bronislawa Malavich.
She was the wife of Robert Garant). They were married on June 28, 1941, in Nashua NH.
She was a graduate of Nashua High School and worked for The State Employment Office and The Nashua Telegraph. She raised her niece, Sue, and nephew, Steve, as her own when they tragically lost their mother as babies. This, more than anything has defined “Auntie Blanche’s” life as a loving, caring and selfless mother.
She was a long-time member of St. Stanislaus Church and more recently St. Christopher. Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and even into her 90’s she was knitting hats for newborn infants at local hospitals. She volunteered for over 20 years working with first graders at Charlotte Avenue School in Nashua.
She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Robert Garant. She is also predeceased by her sisters Josephine Baranowski and Adelka Smith as well as her brother Stanley Malavich.
She is survived by her niece Virginia Laferriere of Lowell MA, her nephew Steven Malavich of Nashua NH, and her niece Susan Duval with her husband Neil of Minot Maine. She also leaves behind numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
SERVICES: Family and friends are invited to gather Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Davis Funeral home, 1 Lock St. Nashua NH or to join us at the funeral mass at11:00 AM at St. Christopher’s Parish, 62 Manchester St. Nashua. Those in attendance will be asked to wear mask due to current covid protocols. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 61 Pine Hill Rd Nashua NH.
