Lucien Octave ‘Lou’ Vaillancourt
Lucien Octave “Lou” Vaillancourt, age 87, of Hudson, NH, passed into the waiting arms of our Lord on Jan. 4, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Lea Marie “Lee” (Gingras) Vaillancourt who passed in 2016.
Lou was born in Newport Center, VT on Jan. 28, 1934, son of the late Octave & Alice (Hebert) Vaillancourt. Lou went to boarding school in Quebec, and later attended St. Marie’s Grammar & High School in Manchester, NH.
In 1953, Lou met the love and light of his life, Lea Marie “Lee” Gingras. He was a corporal in the US Army and when he returned from service, he married Lee on April 27, 1957 at the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, NH.
He then earned his BS at Bentley University and entered the financial field. He later became an entrepreneur in the energy field and sales fields respectively.
His family will remember his stoic presence, wisdom, knowledge, practical guidance and quick wit; survived by his four children, Denis Vaillancourt, Richard Vaillancourt, Corinne Vaillancourt and Carl Vaillancourt and his wife Monica; he was a treasured pepere to Nicole Bedard and her partner John, Angela Vaillancourt and her partner Moses; great-pepere to Layla; he also leaves a sister, Monique Limoges of Claremont, NH and a brother, Andrew Vaillancourt and his wife Carol of FL; also many nieces & nephews. He was brother of the late Emile Vaillancourt, Helen Therriault and Aline Vaillancourt.
SERVICES: There will be no visitation. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Monday Jan. 10, 2022 at the St. John XXIII Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church, 25 Library St., Hudson, NH 03051. Interment with Military Honors to follow at NH State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
