Michael R. Velcheck

Michael R. Velcheck, 52, a lifelong resident of Merrimack, NH died Thursday Dec. 30, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH after a lengthy battle with Covid-19.

He was born in Nashua, NH on Oct. 15, 1969 a son of Robert C. and Lois D. (Mowrey) Velcheck of Merrimack.

Michael was a graduate of Merrimack High School Class of 1987 and graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from RPI in Troy, New York in 1991 and was formerly employed at Imaging Automation and BAE Systems.

At the age of 9, he started his musical career at Darrell’s Music Hall playing the organ in the front window to draw in customers and soon after became the church organist for St. John Neuman. Michael played in many bands including Indecent Exposure, Caught in the Act, Beyond Recognition, The Open Bar Band and most recently Radio Star.

In addition to his parents and many friends, he is survived by his brother Robert N. Velcheck and his partner Jenn Simon both of Colorado; Aunt Barbara Patullo and cousins, Dan and his wife Carol Patullo, Kristy and Rebecca Patullo, Frank and his wife Kelly Patullo, Frank Jr. and Tara Patullo as well as the Newsome family of Fernandina Beach FL.

Walk through calling hours (family requests masks to be worn for any services while indoors) will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Thursday Jan. 6, 2022 from 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH Friday at 10 AM.

**Family requests all attendees of the wake and funeral mass to wear face coverings. ** Due to the large attendance anticipated, please proceed through the condolence line and leave the funeral home premises so parking spaces and others attending can pay their respects in a timely manner**
