Irene G. Goulding

Irene G. Goulding, 91, resident of Milford, NH, died on December 31, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH.

She was born in Highgate, Vermont on July 28, 1930. She was the daughter of Louis and Wilma (Ploof) Touseau. She was raised and educated in Troy, Vt. She was married to John H Goulding SR. May 23,1949. They raised nine children together.

Irene worked for many years at OK Tool Co. Inc. as a Machinist and ended her work career at Kirk Motion Products in Hollis, NH. She taught herself to play the organ in her later years by practicing hymns and pop. Most recently she enjoyed contemporary country music. She loved family gatherings, where she would sing with all her children and grandchildren while her sons played guitars. She loved a good laugh and hers was infectious. Irene enjoyed studying the Bible with her friend Beverly and looked forward to her visits always. She loved working on puzzles, reading medical journals and enjoyed flowers.

Irene made her home in Milford for the past 12 years and formerly lived in Brookline, NH for 55 years. She was an active member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Milford, NH

She was pre-deceased by her husband, John H. Goulding Sr., Who died September 2008, her two sons, Peter G. Goulding, died March 2021 and William J. Goulding died November 2017. Also, her two Sisters, Lena Prue of Barton, VT died October 15, 2019 and Shirley Riley of Manchester NH died October 3, 2019.

Family members include her seven remaining children and spouses: John H. Goulding Jr his wife Jeannette (Elliot) Goulding of Loxley, AL, Lois Smith of Milford, NH, Deborah A. Byrd and husband Brian Byrd of Westfield, VT, Judy L. Wood and husband Randy Wood, of Machiasport, ME, Darla J Griffin and husband Peter Griffin, of Nashua, NH, Dena S. Garceau and husband Brian Garceau of Spicewood, TX and Amy I. Perkins and husband Thomas Perkins of Milford, NH. She had 20 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8th at 10:00 am at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 54 Melendy Road, Milford, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to American Heart Association. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.
