Jamila ‘Janet’ Ansara

Jamila “Janet” Ansara, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Hanover Hill Nursing Home in Manchester.

Janet was born in the Greek town of Alexandretta, Turkey on September 20, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Adele Kouyoumji. As a child, her family moved to Beirut, Lebanon where she grew up and later immigrated to the United States in 1966.

For many years, she was employed as a seamstress for various companies as well as herself.

In her free time, she enjoyed cooking many Greek and Lebanese dishes and she liked sewing clothes for her family. She was a devout member of St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family.

She is survived by her two children, Jesse Ansara and his wife Wendy of Candia, NH and Joseph Ansara and his wife Elyse of Elliot, Maine; her seven grandchildren, Christopher, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Kaleigh, Matthew, Alex, and Nicholas. She is also survived by her brother, Eli Kouyoumji of Greece as well as several nieces and nephews.

Janet was predeceased by four siblings, George, Starvo, and Christo Kouyoumji and her sister Alexandra.

Relatives and friends are invited to Janet’s visitation on THURSDAY, December 23rd from 10 until 11 AM in St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM in the church. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua.
