Margarite Katherine Gruenfelder

Dec 11, 2021

Margarite Katherine Gruenfelder, called ‘Maggie’ or ‘Mom’ or ‘Grandma’ or ‘GG’ or ‘Marge’ or ‘Mrs. G’ in all of the different roles she played to the people who loved her.

She was a true New Yorker in her “heart of hearts” despite having spent the last more than 50 years in Hudson NH.

She passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 5th in her home. She was a high spirited and happy lady and always enjoyed a family party or BBQ. Christmas was easily said to be Maggie’s favorite time of year. She loved the chaos of cookie baking day and decorating the tree and any and all things that offered seasonal merriment. Her family was obviously her most valued treasure to any who knew her. She worked for the Nashua School district as well as Southern NH Hospital formerly Memorial Hospital in Nashua. She was a member of St John the Evangelist Church and very much enjoyed playing bridge with friends at the Hudson Senior Center. She was known for her favorite saying… “to make a long story short.”

Maggie was born, January 29, 1936, the oldest child to the predeceased, Kurt Regewitz and Katherine (Schneeberger) Regewitz and sister to Werner Regewitz. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James Gruenfelder. She will be missed by friends and family alike including her children: Katherine Erb, Christine Swanson, Christine Doucet and her husband, Norman, James Gruenfelder, Mary Elizabeth Whittemoore and her husband, Barry, John Gruenfelder, and Nancy Sherwood and her husband, Alan. Grandchildren: Justin St. Laurent, Audrey Lassor and her husband Ernie, Joseph St. Laurent, Bill Small, Russell Small and his wife Sally, Ambrose Willis his wife Emily, Dakota Metz, Brooke Metz, Ashley Allen, and Sarah Straube and her husband Sean, Daisy Gruenfelder, Evan Gruenfelder, Stephen Martin, Devin Martin and his wife Taylor, Melissa Belisle and her husband Randy, Thomas Gruenfelder, Charlotte Gruenfelder.
