William ‘Bill’ Twomey

William “Bill” Twomey, of Nashua, NH, passed away on December 3, 2021, at age 89. Predeceased by his son, William Twomey Jr. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Mary (Furlong) Twomey. Also survived by his children James Twomey and wife Emelita (Benitez) Twomey, daughter Linda (Twomey) Kyle and husband Richard Kyle, and daughter-in-law Roberta Klix; grandchildren Michael Sullivan and wife Rachel Sullivan, Liam Twomey and wife Emily Jibb, Patrick Twomey and wife Anne-Marie Beliveau, and Zachary Twomey; great-grandchildren Mason Sullivan and Charles Twomey; and many cherished friends.

Born in Boston in 1932, Bill later moved to Nashua, NH, where he lived for 58 years. Bill was a proud Air Force veteran, and following his military service he was an air traffic controller at Logan Airport and the Boston Control Center in Nashua. Bill had a lifelong passion for baseball, as a player in his younger years and later as a coach. He held coaching positions at all levels of the game including high school, college, little league, in Europe, and in the minor leagues as first base coach for the Nashua Pride. It was Bill’s hope that those who knew him will continue to support their community baseball programs.

A prolific storyteller, Bill could adroitly weave several seemingly unrelated stories into one cohesive whole, all centered on his rich and varied life experiences, especially those shared with family and friends.
