Bruce A. Rasmussen

Bruce A. Rasmussen, 78, of Merrimack passed away on Sunday, November 14th, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 26th, 1942 to the late Edward and Alice (Magarine) Rasmussen. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn.

Bruce served in the U.S. Army and obtained the rank of SP4. Upon receiving an honorable discharge for his service, Bruce went on and had a career with Chase Manhattan Bank for over 30 years until his retirement in 1996.

When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed doing arts & crafts and needlepoint embroidery. He was active in the Merrimack Senior Club and had served as both Vice President and President.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was pre-deceased by a son, Keith Rasmussen in 2015, along with his two siblings, Roy and Gail Rasmussen.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 56 years, Joan (Milsom) Rasmussen; two sons, Andrew Rasmussen and his wife Elvira and Brendan Rasmussen and his wife Jessica; his daughter Amy and her husband Aaron Mortimer; daughter-in-law Palma Rasmussen; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Matthew, Tessa and Torben along with several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack on Tuesday, November 23rd at 10 AM following an hour of visitation at the church from 9 – 10 AM. Burial will follow at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack.
