Stephen W. Rogers

Stephen W. Rogers, 89, of Hudson, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 13, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, after a brief illness.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 14, 1932, he was a son of the late Herbert and Elisa B. Rogers. During his youth, Steve resided in Belmont, MA and was a graduate of Belmont High School. A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Rogers served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1955 and held the rank of Sergeant. After his military service, Steve continued his education at Northeastern University in Boston, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in History in 1960.

In 1960, Steve began his career with the YMCA in Cranston, Rhode Island. After moving to Hudson in 1963, he continued at the Nashua YMCA as physical fitness director for 32 years.

He was an active member of the Main Street United Methodist Church of Nashua and held membership in the American Legion, Post 48 of Hudson.

Steve was the husband of Nancy C. (Cohill) Rogers, whom he married on June 4, 1960 and shared 52 years together until her passing on November 5, 2012.

Members of his family include his daughter, Margaret E. Farr of Laughlin, NV; his son, Andrew C. Rogers of Hudson; two grandsons, Cory C. Rogers of Nashua and Kyle S. Farr of Texas. In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Thursday afternoon, November 18th from 4 to 6 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the Main Street United Methodist Church, 154 Main Street, Nashua, Friday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment and Marine Corps Honors will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3 in Boscawen, Monday, November 22nd at 12:30 p.m. Friends are invited to attend both services.
