Lois E. Kenick

LYNDEBOROUGH – Lois E. Kenick died on October 16, 2021. The daughter of Pauline F. and Joseph L. Kenick, Sr., she leaves two siblings, Joe Jr and Ann Carlson, and nieces and nephews.

A lifelong teacher, she was honored by student groups for caring and excellence and by professional organizations and colleagues at state and national levels for creativity and excellence. Programs she developed brought over $110,000 to institutions she served, an unusual accomplishment for a classroom teacher; and her work was presented at state, regional and international conferences.

She designed and built an energy-efficient home, which she called her Sabbath place. Her happiest times were spent in its solitude with books, pets and projects. She served her students, her schools, her community and her family in creative and thoughtful ways. Her complete autobiography reads, “I chose roads less traveled, and that made the difference.”
