David Lewis Phelan

David Lewis Phelan, 84, of Hollis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Born on January 1,1937 in Wareham, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph Phelan and Lillian (Lewis) Loring.

David grew up in Hudson and graduated from Alvirne High School in 1956. He served his country in the US Army as a Private First Class for four years until he was honorably discharged in 1959. David worked for the NH State Liquor Store for 38 years, continuing there part-time even after retirement.

David was a dedicated member of the Nashua Baptist Church. He enjoyed walking, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved the Hollis community and was very appreciative of the many kindnesses extended to him over the years, particularly as he became less self-sufficient.

David is survived by his sister Patricia Kinville; sister-in-law Margaret Phelan; nieces Colleen Bolton and Barbara Fraulini; nephews Robert Kinville, Brian Kinville, James Kinville, Bruce Kinville, and Michael Schultz; and many loving friends. He is predeceased by his brothers Paul Phelan and Joseph Phelan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 29 with calling hours from 1pm to 3pm and a Service starting at 3pm at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home located at 26 Kinsley St., Nashua, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hollis Fire Department. Please notate “In memory of David Phelan.”
