Claire Isabelle ‘Mimi’ Brown

Claire Isabelle “Mimi” Brown, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Tequesta, Florida. She was one week shy of her 91st birthday.

Born in Nashua to Alda (Morin) Isabelle and Gerard Isabelle in 1930, Claire graduated from Nashua High School and spent most of her life in her hometown. Claire married the late Emery H. Brown and they raised two daughters.

Claire worked as a legal secretary and then brought her legal expertise to her work at the Nashua N.H. Courthouse. She also worked as a hostess/floor manager at the former and much loved Nashua landmark,The Modern Restaurant.

About 10 years ago, Claire retired to Tequesta, Florida, where she enjoyed her community of friends, Mah Jongg, pool time and her creative pursuits.

Claire leaves behind a daughter, Deborah B. Lifton and son in law, Richard H. Lifton of Tequesta, FL; a daughter, Kimberly J.B. Smith and son in law, Brendan T. Smith of Laconia, NH; a granddaughter, Claudia C. Stoecklein and her husband, Robert Stoecklein of Tucson, AZ; and a grandson, Graham D. Severance of Moultonboro, N.H.

A private family ceremony will be held in honor of Claire. Claire’s love of reading was a lifelong inspiration. Those who choose to, may make a donation to the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation in her memory.
