Mitzi A. Dillavou
Mitzi A. Dillavou of Hollis, N.H. passed away peacefully in her home early Monday morning at the age of 89. Born in Hudson, N.H. to Gothard S. Jewell and Gladys (Gamble) Jewell. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her half brother Vincent James Smith who passed in 2005.
Mitzi graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1949. She continued her education and attended Nashua Business College. She married Donald Dillavou Sr. in 1951, who passed away in 2007. They had 5 children, Dolly Cantara and husband Norman of Topsham, ME., Donald Dillavou Jr. and wife Zeny of Jacksonville FL., Lori Kerr of Round Rock, TX., David Dillavou Sr. and wife Cindy of Hudson, N.H., James Dillavou and wife Julianne of Nashua, N.H. She had 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
Her favorite pastime was music. She loved listening to music and played the organ for many years. She was a student of Abbie Tilsley and started dancing at the age of 3. Mitzi was picked at age 5 out of all students to make movies in Hollywood, and traveled with her parents out there and made a few “short movies”. She loved flowers, cooking and feeding others, her scratch tickets and playing the game “Left Center Right”.
Mitzi lived a fulfilling life and will be dearly missed by her 5 children and their families as well as her Yorkshire Terrier “Baby.”
There will be a graveside service held Friday, September 24, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery located at 101 Kinsley St. Nashua, N.H. at 2:00 P.M.
