Josephine ‘Josie’ Marie (Pelletier) Soucy
Hudson, NH – Josephine “Josie” Marie (Pelletier) Soucy, age 91, daughter of the late Napoleon and Josephine (Labbe) Pelletier, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on July 19 at the Windham Terrace. She was born on June 25, 1930 in Van Buren, Maine and moved with her family to the Nashua/Hudson area when she was 10 years old. She was married to Andrew J. Soucy of Nashua on Nov. 24, 1949, for 58 years, who predeceased her in November 2007.
Josie was a loving and proud mother of 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. In her early years she worked for Sprague Electric Co., Nashua, and later on worked for the Hudson school system in the cafeteria at Dr. H. O. Smith school until she retired in 1986. She was a sweet, thoughtful, and devoted wife and mother. Her family meant everything to her, and she loved having her children nearby.
Josie is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters: Andrew J. Soucy, Jr. and his wife Kim, and children Sarah Marcoux (Daniel), Joseph, and Malei; Daniel P. Soucy and his wife Sandy, and daughters Holly Howes (Brandon), and Heather Cook (Daniel); Cindy Landolt and her husband Ray, and children Matthew and Christina; Diane Francoeur and her husband Leo, and daughters Katie Stella (Michael) and Jessica Small (Tyler); and son Robert Soucy and his wife Holly, and children Robert, Jr. (Tyra), Amy, and Nicholas. In addition to her husband and parents, Josie was predeceased by her siblings, Archibald, Lawrence, and Roland Pelletier, and Theresa (Pelletier) Cote.
The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the wonderful staff at Windham Terrace for the outstanding care and love given to Josie over the years.
Calling hours will be 9-11 am on Friday morning, July 23, at FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am at St. Aloysius of Gonzaga Church, with interment to follow at St. Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/) or a charity of your choice. Covid-19 Restrictions have been relaxed, however, at the family’s request, visitors at the funeral home are still asked to observe social distancing wherever possible during services.
