Brian Wayne Moore

May 15, 2021

Brian Wayne Moore’s earthly life ended too soon on May 11, 2021. Brian was born to Franklin and Barbara (Holbrook) Moore on May 14, 1963, in Concord, Massachusetts. The family lived in Boxborough, MA for a time before moving to Townsend where Brian spent a good deal of his life.

In 1981 Brian graduated from Nashoba Technical High School where his father worked as a coach and a teacher. He then joined the US Army, serving at Fort Devens from 1981- 1985, and retired as a Spec 4 MP. He married Linda Manion in 1991 and eventually settled in Brookline, NH. Their son Alexander Frank Moore was born in 1997.

Brian began his public safety service (Fire and EMS) shortly after leaving the military. He continued that service for the rest of his life, first for the citizens of Townsend, Boxboro and Pepperell MA, and for the past 18 years with Brookline, NH Fire & Rescue. He also worked for the Sterilite Corporation as a Manufacturing Systems Manager for the past 11 years.

On July 6, 2013 Brian married Karin Canfield. Together they spent many happy years joyfully tooling around on Brian’s Harley, on their boat, and in later years, with their camper.

Brian will be best remembered as a big teddy bear of a man who gave way more than he took. He is survived by his son, Airman First Class Alex Moore, his wife Karin Canfield Moore, and her two sons Airman First Class Aidan Canfield, and Mark Canfield (all of Brookline), his first wife Linda Moore-O’Brien (Merrimack) and his brother Todd Moore (Merrimack). He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Barbara Moore.

In the words of Brian’s sister-in-law Tracey, “With Brian’s death we have lost a dear friend, part of the family, a soldier from our tribe. Our hearts are heavy and the pain is real. Keep your kilt from blowing in the wind Lieut. Moore; the angels don’t need a peep show!”

A service celebrating Brian’s life will be held with full Fire Department Honors at 10:00am on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brookline, 14 Pepperell Rd. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Brookline Fire Department or the Townsend Senior Center.
