Dr. Michael O. Stone of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away on April 20, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital, following a battle with cancer. His wife, Linda Stone, was by his side.

Dr. Stone was a loving and thoughtful father, husband and friend with a passion for nature and learning. His lifetime of service began with enlistment in the U.S. Naval Reserve in his native Abilene, Texas, at the young age of 17. After completing his undergraduate studies at New Mexico State University, Dr. Stone received his doctorate degree in biochemistry at Tulane University and then attended medical school at the University of New Mexico, where he graduated early. For Dr. Stone, a career in family medicine was both a long-held desire and a calling. He first opened a practice in Ruidoso, New Mexico, where he cared for patients in rural areas for more than 6 years. After leaving New Mexico, Dr. Stone worked for Lockheed Martin in Clearwater, Florida, serving as medical director. His career later took him to Nashua, New Hampshire, where he joined the medical team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and continued to practice family medicine for more than eight wonderful years, finally retiring in his late 70’s. His wonderful smile and playful sense of humor complemented decades of experience and a dedication to caring for others, making him a favorite of patients and colleagues alike.
