Shirley Mae Tipping (Goodale)

Shirley Mae Tipping (Goodale), age 74, passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, SC on April 9, 2021 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 18, 1947 in Nashua, NH to Roscoe W and Mattie (Barrett) Goodale she was a graduate of Nashua Senior High School class of 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, William B Tipping, on June 21, 1969.

Shirley enjoyed her time as a stay at home mother, proudly raising two sons. She was active with the PTO, youth soccer, cub scouts, STOPP organization, and as a school volunteer. She enjoyed dancing, reading, gardening, traveling, mahjong, gambling, making friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley worked many years at Accurate Printing, MACOM, and eventually retired from the Nashua Airport Authority in 2011.

In 2015, Shirley and William retired to Myrtle Beach, SC. Shirley enjoyed reconnecting with life-long friends that also retired in the area but also cherished the many new friendships she made over the past six years. She and her husband became avid cruisers and Shirley became a born again Christian.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 51 years, William B Tipping of Myrtle Beach SC, her oldest son and daughter-in law David and Stephanie Tipping of Bedford NH, and youngest son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Maggie Tipping of New Boston NH, and five grandchildren; Megan, Lauren, William, Sabrina, and Anneliese, and her Uncle Bradley Barrett and his wife Kathy of Corbin KY.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Roscoe and Mae Goodale, and her half-sister Marjorie Battestelli.

A private family ceremony, remembrance, and life celebration will be held later this summer at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Myrtle Beach Christian Church, located at 1226 Burcale Rd in Myrtle Beach SC.
