Anne Marie (Walsh) Daukas

Apr 3, 2021

Anne Marie (Walsh) Daukas, 95 of Rocky Hill passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side. Born August 21, 1925 in Cambridge, MA to the late Eileen Ita ( Dwyer ) and James Francis Walsh, she grew up in Nashua, NH. Anne graduated from Nashua High School and went on to graduate from Lowell Teacher’s College. She was a WAVE during the end of WWII, taught elementary school, was a PTA member and gave her time to many volunteer activities, but her main focus in life was her family.

Married to her high school sweetheart and love of her life, the late Paul “Toli” Daukas for 58 years, Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her four sons Paul Jr. of Rocky Hill, CT., John (Monica) of Clarkston, MI, Nicholas (Jennifer) of Glastonbury, CT., and Stephen (Karen) of Shrewsbury, MA; grandchildren Jessica, John Paul, Molly and Nicholas; and great granddaughter Sophie Anne. Anne had two siblings, James Francis Walsh Jr. and is survived by her sister Mary Elizabeth Gleason of Windham, NH.

Anne’s true passion was her family and she loved to be with them whether it was at the beach, during the holidays, at a barbecue or during one of her many terrific birthday parties. She was our family’s foundation and taught us how to be strong, to work hard, always be positive and to be accepting and loving. She had a wonderful smile, outgoing personality, marvelous sense of humor and an enormous and loving heart.

A celebration of Anne’s life will take place privately, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Anne’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital: https://www.stjude.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooklawn Funeral Home. To offer words of sympathy online please visit Brooklawnfuneralhome.com.
