Angela Amoroso

Apr 3, 2021

Angela Amoroso passed away on March 21, 2021 at the age of 41 after living and thriving with Metastatic Breast Cancer for 7 years. She lived her life with grace, dignity, joy, and a sense of adventure that continued after her diagnosis.

Angela is the beloved daughter of Carol Hordis of Nashua and Michael Amoroso of Brush Prairie,WA.

Angela graduated from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia where she studied literature and journalism. She loved the 3 years she lived in Australia and continued those friendships on her return home.

Angela lost her cherished rescue dog, Oskar, her constant companion, supporter, and “Pillar” in December of 2020. Angela and Oskar took a 2 month road trip around the country the year after her diagnosis.

Angela is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends locally and those she made during her world travels. During her cancer years she was supported by her “pillars”, Carol Anne, Kristine, Ginny, and Kevin.

Angela worked as a medical office manager. After her diagnosis of Cancer, she left her position to pursue her loves of photography, travel, and writing. She viewed the ability to focus her life on her passions: writing, photography, and travel, as a gift from cancer. Angela documented her travel throughout the US and the world and her cancer experiences and her blog; beautyandthedark.com.

While on a chemotherapy clinical trial, she started hiking NH 4000 footers, sometimes alone. She was able to complete 6 of them.

Angela was a bright and shining soul who lit up those around her. She was generous with her smile. Angela knew the names of office, hospital, and nursing staff and always took a few moments to chat and share a smile with them.

Angela never liked being called a survivor. She believed it diminished those who did not survive. She never considered herself a fighter. Angela spent everyday living a full life despite having Cancer and did not want to expend her energy fighting it. Angela lived a bold, adventurous, and beautiful life.

Angela had a love of yoga. She felt it always helped her regain her strength; physically, emotionally, and spiritually after surgery or a difficult chemotherapy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to: Firstdescents.org, an organization for young people with cancer, which had a profound effect on her life, Metavivor.org, and organization that advocates and supports research for Metastatic Breast Cancer; or your favorite animal rescue organization.

Angela has requested a Life Celebration which will be scheduled when gatherings are safe. Until then, she would like people to do something that makes them happy and smile. By celebrating your life, you are celebrating Angela’s life. The DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua has been placed in charge of arrangements. An online guest book is available at www.davisfuneralhomenh.com, (603-883-3401) “ONE MEMORY LIGHTS ANOTHER.”
