Gary Lee Conaty

Gary Lee Conaty ,81, passed away on February 7, 2021 in Englewood Florida after a brief struggle with brain cancer with his wife by his side. He was born July 2,1939 to Doris(Haskins) and Albert Conaty in Detroit Michigan. He moved to New Hampshire at the age of 7 and attended the Litchfield Schools graduating from Alvirne High School in 1957. He joined the Navy out of high school and attended the Fleet Sonar School in Key West Florida graduating first in his class. He was stationed aboard the destroyer Forrest B Royal. After the Navy he attended Northeastern University graduating with honors with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management. He worked many years for Sanders Associates and Bomar Ali.

He was married in 1959 to his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years Betty(Karos). They lived in Hudson and raised their family-son Kenneth and daughter Shari-from 1967-2015. He enjoyed golfing, boating, family vacations, and the many extended family get-togethers. He was a long time member of the American Legion. He spent many vacations at Lake Winnipesaukee and in Orlando Florida. He retired to Englewood Florida in 2010.

He leaves behind his loving wife Betty, his son Kenneth and wife Terin Voisine, his daughter Shari Eichinger and husband Liam Miller, his grandsons Alexander Miller, Camden Voisine, and Cody Simpson, his granddaughter Melinda Conaty, his great-grandson Dustin Phillips, his brother Albert(Joe) Conaty and wife Jane, his sister Linda Sperberg and husband David, and his sister Jamie Gagnon and partner Eric Lindahl. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Litchfield, NH. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his name to Tidewell Hospice, 12050 N. Access Rd, Port Charlotte, Florida, 33981.
