Michael J. Mattia

Jan 16, 2021

Michael J. Mattia, 31, of Nashua, NH, the beloved son of Charles and Donna-Jean (Vallee) Mattia, passed away suddenly due to illness on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Born on August 23, 1989, he attended the Nashua School System graduating as a very proud Panther in 2007. He went on to graduate with a degree in Marketing from the University of New Hampshire in 2011. Michael was greatly admired for his work ethic and skillset by his colleagues at FinancialForce.

Michael’s infectious smile spoke volumes to those who were on the receiving end of it. He had a passion for life and poured his soul into whatever he invested in. Mike would give everything for the people he cared about and never expected or desired anything in return. More than anything, other than his devoted dog Rambo, Michael loved his workouts. He was passionate and outspoken as it relates to healthy living and extremely proud of his accomplishments. He was an avid sports fan who loved playing soccer, basketball and baseball (especially catch with his dad); he was known to all coaches and teammates as “Bulldog” which speaks to his true personality.

Michael was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Mattia, uncle Kevin Clark and cousin Angela Adams.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother Iris Papakostas Mattia; stepfather Daniel Magni; brothers Jason Mattia and fiancé Rose Smith, Benjamin Borromeo and wife Debi, and Jacob Magni; and stepsister, Natalie Magni. He is also survived by his grandparents Joan and Jerome Seligman, Roger and Christine Vallee and Arthur and Penny Papakostas; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael’s extended family throughout this community is clear and is survived by countless friends that meant the most to him.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for all their heroic efforts in their attempt to save his life.

His WALK-THROUGH VISITATION will be held at FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Monday, January 18th from 4 to 7 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to practice social distancing and wear face coverings. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Michael’s name to Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine or the Celtics Shamrock Foundation.

Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. www.farwellfuneralservice.com.
