Carol Leon Charette

Carol Leon Charette (Mr. C., Mr. Carol, Carol, Dad, Popsie, Peppy) passed away July 20, 2020 in Sarasota Florida at the age of 75. Carol was born in Biddeford Maine on August 15th 1944
Carol knew the first time he laid eyes on the love of his life and wife Cookie that she was the ONE and they would marry soon and become ONE. They lived, they laughed, they loved. This year they would be celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary. The love for his wife was unwavering and unconditional. They were soulmates and partners in everything in life. Including raising 5 girls and working together in many of the family businesses.
Mr. C. was one of the hardest workers and the love for his work gave him great reward. He was an entrepreneur and the founder of BADD (Bartenders against Drunk Drivers), Mr. Carols Bartending School and Mr. Carols catering service. His many other self-made businesses included, Buttons Little Ice Maker, Charinney’s Variety, Nanas Ice Cream, Hudson Market (X2), Stars and Stripes, Cookie and Carols and LOL Neighborhood Market. These variety stores, deli’s and diners where located In Nashua and Hudson NH and Fort Myers, FL. Every year Carol and Cookie played Santa Clause and his helper for the communities in which they worked and lived. They did this to make the communities strong and they did it with love. Their love for life was so evident and man did they live.
A former Marine, Navy See Bee, and soldier in the Air force, he served his country for 12 years and did 3 tours during the Viet Nam war. An immensely proud American. He loved food, going to the movies, dancing to that old time rock and roll and he was a pretty good practical jocker. Anyone that knew him knew he had a truly kind heart. It is with our heavy hearts that we write this tribute. We feel honored to have had a man such as he in our lives. His hard work and dedication in everything he did made a difference in the many lives of those he touched in so many endless ways.
Mr. C. is survived by all 5 daughters, there partners and many grand and great grandchildren. Brooke and Ric O’Neil of Andover MA, Deanna Broadley and grand-girls Sophia and Ellsie of Hanover MA, Mia and Ron Lefebvre of Sarasota Fl and grand-children, Amandra Pelletier of Nashua, NH and great grand-children Natia and Jesse, Joshua Waterhouse of Derry, NH and great-grandchildren Julius and Kaleb, Samuel Pelchat of Berlin, NH and great grand-children Carter and Kol, Karen Kinney of Cape Coral Fl and Darlene Kinney, John and Riley Walters of Hudson NH. His Brother Lucian and wife Grace Charette of North Dakota. Many in-laws, outlaws, nieces, nephews across the globe and his devoted service dog Dante.

To honor his wishes there will be no services. Mr. C’s family will hold a private service at a later date in Sarasota, FL where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife. A special place that he frequented often to visit with her, the love of his life. May they meet again.
