Robert ‘Rob’ Lewis Holden

Jul 25, 2020

Robert “Rob” Lewis Holden, born November 6, 1961, passed away Wednesday July 8, 2020 peacefully at his home in Hudson, NH surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the son of Robert A. Holden and Suzie Scemama Holden (deceased) and is survived by four children (Jason, Sarah-Fay, Kelly, and Michael) and several grandchildren. He was the oldest of 6 children; sisters (Debbie Anne, Debbie Marie, and Lisa), and brother Gary (brother Eddie – deceased).

Rob graduated from Nashua High School in 1979 followed by his enlistment in the United States Army, Airborne Infantry Division (1980 to 1984). Upon his return to civilian life, he graduated from Plymouth State University (1989 – 1993) at the top of his class (Magna Cum Laude) and was the only person to obtain 2 degrees simultaneously (Math & Science). For the past 34 years he devoted family man. He was loved dearly by his family and many friends. He was the neighborhood  go-to Dad to many while others also knew him as a father figure, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Son, Brother-In-Arms, “Best Boss in the World”, mentor, and friend.

Rob had a contagious laugh, warm smile, and would open his home to all as his HEART was LARGER than LIFE! He was a man who was willing to share his advice to those who sought him out, and he was caring, loving, nurturing, perceptive, intelligent, wise beyond measure, forgiving, supportive, understanding, and a man who NEVER ONCE GAVE UP WHEN HE HAD HIS MIND SET ON SOMETHING! Our times shared with him can never be replaced and will FOREVER be cherished.

“His legacy to his children was not with words or possessions, but the unspoken treasure of his example as a man and a father.” – Will Rogers, Jr.
