Gerald J. O’Neil, age 83, a native of Milford, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020, at Crestwood Center.

Jerry was born in Nashua Memorial Hospital, Nashua, NH, January 5, 1937, the son of Elizabeth C. White O’Neil and Thomas F. O’Neil, Jr. He graduated from Milford High School, Milford, NH, in 1955 and entered the USMC shortly thereafter.

While in the Marine Corps he was last stationed on the base in Santa Ana, CA, where he was an Air Traffic Controller. Jerry and Pam returned to CA where he completed his time in the Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in June, 1963.

When they returned home, Jerry was employed by Sanders Associates, now BAE Systems, for 39 years and retired as a Design Draftsman. He joined the Sanders Golf League and also enjoyed Metal Detecting until Rheumatoid Arthritis made him unable to continue. In earlier years Jerry watched his children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities–baseball games, skating programs, etc.

Jerry was a family man and loved being around his home building bird houses, stone walls, and a hearth for a stove. He also was an animal lover, but especially loved his dogs.

Jerry leaves his wife Pam of 61 years; a son Kevin O’Neil and his wife Lisa; a daughter Jeryl Finan and her husband Tim; a daughter Peggy O’Neil and her husband Ted Dennler; a daughter Allyn Hendrixson and her husband Jack; Jerry loved his Grandchildren: Michael and Matthew O’Neil; Megann Finan; Tom Finan and his wife Lisa; Robert and Daniel Finan; Nathaniel and Aimee Dennler; Jacquelyn, Kerith, Abigail and Camille Hendrixson. Jerry would have welcomed his first great grandchild in 2 weeks. He also leaves a brother Allen O’Neil and his wife Janet; a brother Armand O’Neil and his wife Eloise; a few cousins and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no service at this time; however, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation will be followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH.
