Elizabeth Ayer

Elizabeth (Betty) Ayer, age 72, of Powder Springs, GA, (formerly of Nashua, NH and Lowell, MA) passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Betty was born in Argentina and moved to Lowell, MA as a young girl. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1965 and went on to attend the Chandler School for Women in Boston, MA. She lived overseas with her family for many years while ultimately calling Nashua, NH home. Betty most recently worked at United Healthcare in Hooksett, NH and had previously been employed by Sanders Associates in Merrimack, NH. Betty will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love of cooking has been passed on to the next generation.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Blanca Griauzde of Lowell, MA. She is survived by her husband John, her daughters Carolyn (Ayer) Donahoe and Jennifer (Ayer) Gagne, as well as two sons-in law (Tom Donahoe and John Gagne) and 5 grandchildren: Kevin Donahoe, John Donahoe, Peter Donahoe, Julia Gagne, and Jack Gagne, all of Marietta, GA.

A private service with family will be held at St. Joseph Church in Marietta, GA.
