David E. Mansor

It is with great sorrow that the family of David Mansor of York, Maine, announces his unexpected passing on April 22, 2020, at age 68 from the COVID-19 virus at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to the late George and Agnes Mansor.

Dave grew up in Methuen, Massachusetts, an avid baseball and basketball player and attended Tenney High School. He was a produce manager for Kealey Farms and Hannaford supermarkets, with an unmatched work ethic for 40 years. In the year 2000, he joined his wife Debby as head baker and CEO of Creative Cakes by Debby. Committed to offering the best, customer satisfaction was always Dave’s top priority. Along with running the business, Dave was a baseball umpire and basketball referee for the city of Nashua for more than 30 years. Always the teaching official, Dave instilled sportsmanship and a passion for the game impacting many youngster’s lives. He was truly loved by every player, parent and coach; one of the nicest and most standup guys you could ever meet.

In 2016, Dave and Deb sold their business and retired to York, Maine, fulfilling their dream to live by the ocean. Besides spending time with family and friends, they enjoyed traveling, fitness and morning walks along Long Sands beach. He was active at St. Christopher’s Church and volunteered for several organizations in the community. He touched many lives with his thoughtfulness and kindness, living life to the fullest.

He leaves behind his loving wife Debby of 32 years. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Christian Poulin of Auburn, New Hampshire; Kristin and James Paquette of Hudson, New Hampshire; and son David Jr. of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandson Jason Canfield and great-grandson Christian Canfield; sister Susan Mansor of Candia, New Hampshire; sisters- and brothers-in-law; Jude and Bill Platko of St. Augustine, Florida; Maryjane and Ray Richard of Madiera Beach, Florida; and brother- and sister-in-law Bud and Jeannette Mansor of Coral Springs, Florida. He also leaves behind mother-in-law Rita Alcox of Nashua, New Hampshire; father-in-law Walter Alcox of Homosassa, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law Allan and Debra Alcox of Park City, Utah; David and Chantal Alcox of Milford, New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews.

Because of restrictions due to the virus, funeral arrangements provided by Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home for Dave will be postponed until a later date. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Nashua Park Recreation Biddy Basketball program in memory of Dave.
