Lewis ‘Dewey’ Raymond

Lewis I. “Dewey” Raymond, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 29, 2020. Born in Nashua, NH on September 1, 1928, he was the son of Tracy and Hilda (French) Raymond of Merrimack, NH.

Dewey served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict as a dedicated soldier in the US Army. He was a member of several area social and veterans’ clubs in Nashua and his Beloved Merrimack, NH. A lifetime member of: Club National, Social Club, Polish-American Club and the Disabled American Veterans Club all of Nashua. Although he loved and cherished his membership in these clubs, his heart and soul were in his Veterans Clubs in Merrimack. Dewey was a lifetime member in both the American Legion Post 98 and The VFW Post 8641. Dewey served as Sergeant of Arms of Post 98 from 1966 to 2006 and held the same position at the VFW for many years as well.

He was a longtime employee at Greg and Sons / Triangle Pacific of Nashua. Upon his retirement he was employed as a parts delivery driver and later became family with the folks at Pine Motor Parts of Nashua.

Dewey was pre-deceased by his loving wife Laurette M. (Ricard) Raymond. He was also pre-deceased by siblings; Guy and Geneva (Corbin) Raymond, Charles Raymond, Ernest and Betty (Mason) Raymond, Robert and Shirley (Gilson) Raymond and Eva (Raymond) Greenleaf. As well as daughter Patti Jean (Raymond) Nelson and son John Schneider.

Dewey is survived by his loving daughter, Bonnie (Raymond) Smith and husband Larry Smith as well as son, Robert and Elizabeth Schneider; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren loving sister M. Patricia (Raymond) Decato Hayes and husband John Hayes, his sister in laws Sally (Fairbanks) Raymond and Linda Raymond and countless nieces and nephews.

Due to current public health and safety concerns, funeral services for Dewey will be limited to immediate family members and held privately. Dewey’s interment will take place at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH. We thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.
