Andre R. Caron

LONDONDERRY- Andre R. Caron, 96, died peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020, at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry. He was the beloved husband of the late Yvette C. (Vaillancourt) Caron who predeceased him on June 28, 2013.

Andre was born in Nashua on September 23, 1923 and was the son of the late Dominique and Alma (Ouellette) Caron.

He served in the United States Navy Seabees in the Solomon Islands, South and Central Pacific, and was in the liberation of the Philippine Islands. He received the World War II Victory Medal, as well as the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, four stars. Andre was discharged as a Petty Officer Second Class.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed at International Paper Box and Machine for 40 years as a supervisor. During that time, Andre enrolled in evening classes and received his Masters Certificate from Boston Branch of American Association of Industrial Management.

In his free time, he was interested in astronomy and he even built his own telescope. He was a member of the Harvard Sky and Telescope Club, was an avid golfer, and he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He often took camping trips on the weekends in Hampton Falls, NH.

Andre is survived by his two children, Richard Caron and his wife Diane of Nashua and Andrea Pelletier of Largo, Florida; his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters, Lucy Vaillancourt and her husband Maurice, Sr. Georgette Caron, Fernand Lavoie and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his wife, Yvette, Andre was predeceased by his daughter Denise Caron and his brothers, Lionel, Dollard and Hector Caron and a sister Sr. Jeanette Caron.
