Sheila M. Fowler

Feb 12, 2020

Sheila Marie (Gilpatrick) Fowler, 69, a longtime resident of Nashua, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 9, 2020. Sheila was the beloved wife of Royce “Lefty” Fowler with whom she would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on February 22nd.

Born in Detroit, Maine on May 6, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Lindy Gilpatrick and Thelma B. (Hopkins) Gilpatrick Valcourt. Educated in local schools, Sheila was a graduate of Nashua Senior High School. For many years, she was employed at the service desk of the former Bradlees department store at Simoneau Plaza in Nashua where some even referred to her as “Mrs. B.” Sheila later worked at Atrium Medical for 14 years until she retired.

Her passions in life were taking care of ALL of her children, grandchildren and many adopted children. Sheila would always go out of her way and beyond her financial means to take care of someone she loved. She loved everyone!

When she wasn’t taking care of her family and friends, you could find her enjoying a delicious meal at Donna’s Place; watching her grandchildren’s sporting events or watching the Red Sox play. Most importantly, she was the absolute best person in the world to give you a hug when needed. She by far, is the definition of selfless and proved that to everyone who has ever met her.

Besides her husband; Sheila is survived by her four sons, Shawn Fowler and his wife Jennifer, Eric Fowler and his wife Melissa, and Marc Fowler and his wife Tina, all of Nashua, and Bruce Gora of Washington State; seven grandchildren, Travis, Shad, Bayleigh, Brittany, Eli, MacKenzie and Christian; two sisters, Deb Hopkins and husband Ralph of Maine, Lesa Warner and the late Carl Warner of Nashua; one brother, Leonard Valcourt and his wife Stephanie of Virginia; as well as several nieces, nephews and countless “adopted children”.

She was predeceased by her first- born child, Royce Fowler Jr.; her mother Thelma Valcourt and husband Leonard; and her father Lindy Gilpatrick.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Thursday afternoon, February 13th from 2 to 5 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, to do an act of kindness for your loved ones.

Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE. (603) 882-0591. www.farwellfuneralservice.com
