James F. Haupt
James Francis Haupt – Formerly of Manchester and Nashua, Jim passed away January 26, at the age of 83 after a recent courageous battle against congestive heart disease. Jim was the youngest of three children, born in Chicago, Illinois on April 11, 1936 to John and Nettie Haupt. He was a graduate of Morton High School in Cicero, IL. Jim married the love of his life, Dolores “Dee” Haupt on September 7, 1963 (predeceased). Jim recently rediscovered love and remarried Fran Owens of Stoneham, Massachusetts in 2018.
Jim was an active member of his community and church. He served in the Army Security Agency as an instructor at Fort Devens, worked many years as an electronics engineer at Sanders Assoc., a Course Developer at Digital Equipment, and ultimately finished his career at The Nashua Center as a payroll administrator.
Jim will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim loved bowling, music, exercise, and all sports. He was a lifelong fan of “Da Bears” and the Cubs. Jim enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren compete and excel in sports. Jim was also one of the original founders of the Nashua Slow Pitch Softball league.

Jim is loved and greatly missed by his two sons, Brian Haupt, and wife Lil Smith of Weare, NH and Steven Haupt of Jaffery, NH, his daughter, Debra Haupt-Renaud, her spouse Paul Palmer of Nashua, NH, Jim’s son in law, Paul Haupt-Renaud of Greenfield, NH, grandsons, Paul Haupt-Renaud and Dane Haupt-Renaud of Nashua, NH, Paul Palmer of Manchester, NH, Ian Palmer of Groton MA, Ryan Palmer of Holden MA, granddaughters, Miranda McDonald of Derry NH, Elizabeth Bond of Vermont, great grandchildren, Hannah, Jada and Jaxon McDonald, Jacoby, Kaya and Maeve Palmer, sister Patricia Wascher of California and many nephews and nieces. Jim was predeceased by wife Dorothy Haupt, daughter Jill Haupt, great grandson Jacob McDonald and sister Eleanor Miara. May the memory of Jim bring a smile to your face and may you honor his memory by doing something good for someone else.
In lieu of visiting hours, mass will be held at St. Marie Parish on Notre Dame Ave in Manchester, NH on Monday February 10th at 10am. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Nashua Center for the Multiply Handicapped at 18 Simon St. Nashua, NH 03060. Tel# 603-883-6163.
