Atlee B. Caldwell

Atlee B. Caldwell, 78, of Nashua, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 at Laurel Place in Hudson, New Hampshire. She was born April 28th, 1941 in Beverly, Massachusetts to the late Napier Caldwell and Mary (Caldwell) Prahl.

She spent her childhood years living in Danvers, Massachusetts and graduated in 1958 from Holten High School. After high school, she went on to Katherine Gibbs Business School and continued her education at Colby Junior College in New London, New Hampshire. Atlee later moved to Marblehead, Massachusetts to raise her children, Sarah and Matthew, and continued her education at Salem State. For most of her career she was employed with Digital Equipment Corporation where she was the Employment Manager. Her job at Digital brought her to Hudson, Massachusetts and later to Nashua, New Hampshire where she started her own business, Heaven Sent Nannies.

Throughout Atlee’s life she had a zest for creativity and was a talented seamstress, knitter and quilter. She enjoyed making dresses, quilts, sweaters, hats, mittens and anything else you can think of for her grandchildren and friends. She also had an adventurous side and loved to travel, some of her favorite places to visit were Greece and France. Atlee also cherished her friends, many of whom were lifelong.

Atlee is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Dowdell) Rooney and her husband, Gary and their children, Gillian and Kalen all of Dunstable, Massachusetts, Lauren Rooney, and her significant other Dan Plunkett and their daughter, Ryan of Nashua, New Hampshire. Her son, Matthew Dowdell and his wife Kelley and their children, Haley, Jackson and Madeline of Bozeman, Montana. A sister Sarah (Caldwell) Anderson and her husband Buchanan of Danvers, Massachusetts and their children, Elisabeth (Anderson) Kelsey of Newburyport, Massachusetts and Slade Anderson of Salem, Massachusetts. Atlee was predeceased by her step-father, Frederick Prahl.

CALDWELL – Atlee B., of Nashua, NH. January 8, 2020. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial gathering in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Saturday, January 18 from 12 to 2 PM.
