Jane M. (Schmidle) Fodero

Jane M. (Schmidle) Fodero, of Nashua, died on Saturday November 23, 2019 following a short illness. Jane was surrounded and comforted by her loving family.

She was born June 1, 1935 in Buffalo, New York. Daughter of the late Leonard and Magdalyn (Petrie) Schmidle. She was the loving wife of Jesse Fodero, of Nashua, NH. They were married on October 20th, 1956 at Fourteen Holy Helpers church in West Seneca, NY.

Jane graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in 1953, and received her RN from the Mercy School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as a registered nurse while heroically raising her five children in West Seneca NY, Virginia, Oklahoma City, East Aurora NY, and Nashua NH.

Jane’s strong faith guided her throughout her life, and she attended Mass daily. She generously gave her time to others, helping those in need and visiting the sick. She was the ministry leader of her parish’s Friendly Visitors group and served as the parish nurse. She served on the parish bereavement team and also welcomed new parishioners to the church. Jane was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She avidly supported the Pine Haven Boys Center in Allenstown, NH and Girls Inc. of New Hampshire. Jane (Nonny) loved knitting, reading, and sharing stories of her childhood with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her infant daughters Ann and Mary Fodero. She leaves behind her husband Jesse Fodero, her children: Janine (Rick) Hilton of Clarence NY, Jesse (Lisa) Fodero II of West Seneca NY, Mark (Sally) Fodero of New Castle NH, John (Michele) Fodero of Jericho VT, Gregory (Joanna) Fodero of Walpole MA, her cherished grandchildren: Jessica (Aleks) Roising, Rebecca (Jen) Hilton-Miller, Mary (Nick) Cocuzza, Kristen Fodero, Jesse Fodero III, Sarah Fodero (fiancé Joey Wolfkill), Savannah (Tyler Forthofer) Fodero, Madeline Fodero, Anna Fodero, John T. Fodero, Luciana Fodero, Henry Fodero, her great-grandchildren: Finn and Claire Roising. Sisters: Alice and the late Al Seeley, Ann and Jim Sperduti, Mary and the late Mike Aures.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 at 11am at the Parish of the Resurrection church in Nashua, NH. Interment will follow on December 6th, 2019 at Nativity Cemetery in Orchard Park, NY.

Family and friends are invited to attend.
