Laurette (Lachance) Levy

On November 14, 2019 our beloved mother, Laurette (Lachance) Levy, passed away peacefully at the Merrimack Community Hospice House after a period of declining health. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, and friend.

Laurette was born in Nashua on August 11, 1928 and was the beloved daughter of the late Gerard and Rose Lachance (Morin). She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jaclyn Kalil.

She worked for numerous years at Sanders in Nashua, NH. Laurette enjoyed free time with her family and friends. In her earlier years, she was the “official driver” of weekend trips, taking her friends to the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. She enjoyed many vacations with her family and grandchildren. Some of her favorite destinations were trips to Aruba, Naples, Fl, and Lake Winnesquam.

She loved playing cards, going to the beach, and especially years of attending the YMCA with her swim friends. Laurette and her longtime friend, Lorraine Desjardins of Sunrise, Fl (formally Nashua, NH), even share a birthday. She was blessed to have such a special friend in her life. One of her greatest blessings was babysitting her two grandchildren for ten years with her friend Lorraine, Nana. She had wonderful memories of bringing them to the park and playing with them after school. She had such an important role in their upbringing.

Laurette is survived by three children; a daughter, Doreen Whittaker (Levy) and her wife Barbara of Wells, ME, a daughter, Dr. Donna Kalil (Levy) and her husband Dr. Kenneth Kalil of Windham, NH, a son, Duane Levy and his wife Priscilla of Hollis, NH, her beloved grandchildren, Dr. Michele Kalil and Andrew Kalil, both of Boston, MA, Michael Levy and his husband Gerrett Humbarger of Montpelier, OH, and Kimberly Levy of Somverille, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 18th from 5pm-8pm in the DUMONT-SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, 50 FERRY ST. IN HUDSON. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 19th at 10am in Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua. All may please meet at church. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Nashua.
