Alden J. Piper

Alden J. “Skip” Piper, 77, resident of Greenville, NH, died on November 6, 2019 at Crestwood Healthcare Center, Milford, NH.

He was born in Fort Devens, MA on July 16, 1942, the only child of Richard E. and Nellie D. (Silva) Piper. Skip was raised and educated in Milford, and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1960.

He made his home in Greenville for the past 27 years and formerly lived in Milford.  He had been employed as a machinist for American Can Company for many years.

 Skip was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Ricciardi Hartshorn Post # 23, Milford, had served in the color guard and as chairman of the Legion breakfasts.

 He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved animals, especially his four cats.

 Family members include his wife of 25 years, Patricia (Miner) Piper of Greenville, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Mary Piper of Chelmsford, MA; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Darryl Jewett of Merrimack, NH; step children, Christopher Miner of TX and Bethany Miner of Concord, NH; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Eli, Braden, Sophia, Lana, Dawson and Gavin.

A memorial visiting hour will be held on Thursday, November 14th from 10:00-11:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
