Lois B. Densmore Brooks

Oct 20, 2019

Lois peacefully passed into the hands of the Lord, surrounded by love, on October 17, 2019.

When Lois entered the world on March 25, 1932, it was a frosty Good Friday in Seymour, Connecticut. She was the youngest of three, and the only daughter born to Idella May (Trewhella) and William Godfred Ulrich.  At age 4, the family moved to Clinton, Massachusetts, and then moved to Berlin, Massachusetts during the 1938 hurricane. After marrying Harold Densmore, having three children, and living in various places in NH, Maine, and Massachusetts, she and her family settled in Milford, NH in 1964.

Lois was a lover of life.  She loved God, bingo, all animals, and nature.  She loved food, chatting with friends and strangers alike, babies, her children and family, and hugs! She was a foster mom to 21 children of all ages.  Lois worked as a dispatcher for the Milford Police Department and was a Red Hatter later in life.  She moved from Milford to Concord in 2009.

Lois was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Harold Chester Densmore, her husband of 6 years, Edward Brooks, her son David C. Densmore, brothers; Henry Nelson Ulrich and Kenneth Warren Ulrich, and her parents.  She leaves behind two loving daughters, Deborah (Densmore) Nichols of Durham, NH and Linda (Densmore) Mertz, of Hopkinton, NH, as well as seven precious grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

She will be missed every minute of the day and always be loved.

A graveside service will be held on October 26, 2019 at 11:00am in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please go to www.smith-heald.com
