Laurier J. Theriault

NASHUA – Laurier “Larry” J. Theriault, 90, died peacefully Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Marquis) Theriault who predeceased him on July 9, 2008.

Larry was born in Grand Falls New Brunswick, Canada on November 16, 1928, and was the son of the late Joseph N. and Eugenie (Leclair) Theriault.

For many years, Larry owned and operated Laurier Theriault General Contracting from 1954 until 1980 when he retired and two of his sons, Donald and David, took over the family business.

In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He also loved to listen to traditional French-Canadian music and playing his harmonica often. His closest friends and family knew him as “Pa”. Pa was the perfect family man, always working hard to make sure he could provide for his family who he loved dearly.

He is survived by his four children, David Theriault and his wife Suzanne of Amherst, Donald Theriault and his spouse Deneé of Nashua, Daniel Theriault of Bedford, NH, and Diane Hice and her husband Steven of Grand Blank, MI; his six grandchildren, Samuel, Sarah, DJ, Bud, Darren, and Clayton; as well as his two sisters, Lucille Godbout of Enfield, CT and Aline Dube of Grand Falls, New Brunswick and his brother, Bertrand Theriault and his wife Ella of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Larry was predeceased by several of his siblings; Narcisse Theriault and his wife Annie, René Theriault and his wife Eugénie (Jane), Fernanda (Theriault) and her husband Roland L’Italien, Annette (Theriault) and her husband Alfred (L’Dé) Plourde, Roland (Le Jaune) Theriault and his wife Marie-Paule, Claude (Le Blanc) Theriault and his wife Laurette, Agathe Theriault, and Réal Theriault and his wife Annette.

Relatives and friends are invited to Larry’s visitation on WEDNESDAY, August 21st from 4 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, August 22nd at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
