Frank Joseph Di Chiara Jr.

Frank Joseph Di Chiara Jr., 69, a longtime Merrimack resident passed away at his home on Sunday January 20, 2019.

He was born on May 17,1949 in Chelsea Ma, a son of the late Frank Joseph Di Chiara Sr. and Elaine (McCarthy) Therrien. Frank attended St. Rose Parochial School in Chelsea MA. where he also served as an Altar Boy.

He was a Graduate of Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, N.H. where he was Class President for 4 years and played Baseball Basketball Football and Track and Field. He played in the 1968 Shriner’s Maple Sugar Bowl Game. He Graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1972 with a B.S. in Physical Education and taught in the Tyngsboro School District in Tyngsboro MA. Frank coached football at his former High School and was an Assistant Football Coach in Tyngsboro as well as Girls Track.

He coached MYA for his children in Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, and Pop Warner Football.

Along with his parents, Frank was pre-deceased by his step-father Arthur Therrien and his brother Walter Glowacki.

He is survived by his loving wife Michele (Brown) Di Chiara of 46 years; three children, Kendra A. Di Chiara and her companion Adam Jump of Nashua NH; Kaitlin A. Day and her husband Troy Day from ME; and Anthony F. Di Chiara from FL; two Grandchildren Carver Lavigne of Nashua and Aaralyn Day of Farmingdale, ME; and his step-mother Beverly Di Chiara.

Frank has a sister Bernadine Di Chiara and her wife Christine Di Chiara of Merrimack. A sister and Brother in Law Pat and Frank Smidth of FL; half siblings Kimberly Howell and her husband Jerry, Steven DiChiara and his wife Karla as well as several nephews and nieces.

Michele and Frank owned Michele’s Restaurant and Catering in Merrimack from 1993 to 2005.

Most recently from 2005 to present Frank worked in his Company FJD Sales as an Independent Manufacturer’s Sales Representative.

Frank was the current President of the Merrimack Lion’s Club. He has been an active member for 42 years.

Frank and Michele were Communicants at Our Lady of Mercy Parish

Frank was a strong “To The Point Guy” with great Knowledge and passion for sports especially his Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins

Honest, Hardworking with a “Dry sense of Humor”, “Quick Come Backs “, and a Big Heart, he will be Greatly missed by his Family, Friends, and Business Associates.

Calling Hours will be held at Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Friday January 25, 2019 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road on Saturday January 26. 9:30 AM
