Aug 7, 2018

Patricia A. (Roussel) Robertson, 75, of Nashua, previous long-time resident of Hudson, NH, died August 1, 2018 at 5:32pm at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on October 30, 1942 in Gardner, MA, the daughter of Joseph E. Roussel and Cleofe (Erali) Roussel.

Patricia attended the newly constructed Athol High School and was part of the first graduating class of 1960. She excelled academically and was a member of many different clubs and organizations, including playing trumpet for the marching band and orchestra. She loved life, all sports, music, and animals. You name it and she was a part of it. She enjoyed baseball/softball, ice skating, swimming, tennis, and biking to name a few. During these formative years she developed her exceptional work ethic. She was a Red Cross Life Guard, worked at the local Leggetts grocery store, and Brooks soda shop. She was the quintessential 50’s teen. Effortlessly dancing to all the latest dances on American Band Stand, buying records, and hanging out with her many friends. Patricia was truly loved by all who met her.

She was previously married to Douglas W. Robertson (deceased) of Athol, MA who served in the US Navy for 21 years. Patricia dedicated most of her younger years to raising her three children and supporting her husband while he served his country. After his retirement in 1974, they moved back to New England and settled in Hudson, NH to raise their family.

Patricia was one of the first female softball coaches for the Hudson girl’s recreational softball league, where she coached several championship teams.

Patricia was a voracious reader. She especially loved science fiction. She collected various memorabilia as she attended science fiction conventions and the like. She was a life-long animal lover; often taking in strays.

She worked extremely hard throughout her life to give back to her family and community. She managed a convenience store, was a real estate broker, worked in mortgage banking, health care claims, and was politically active in local town elections. She was a champion for women’s rights and raised her daughters to be strong and independent.

Patricia is survived by her three children; Cynthia and her husband Brian Sutcliffe of Londonderry, NH; Suzanne McMahon of N. Chelmsford, MA; Douglas and his wife Alice Robertson of Manchester, NH.
