Claire Desjardins-Dupont-Picard

NASHUA- Claire Desjardins-Dupont-Picard, 80, a lifelong resident of Nashua, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, July 19, surrounded by her loving family.

Claire was born in Nashua on December 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Gerard and Juliette (Theroux) Desjardins. She was the wife of the late Romeo Dupont, with whom she spent 25 years of marriage, before his passing in 1982, and Robert Picard, Sr., with whom she spent 33 years of marriage, before his passing in 2015.

She was educated at the Infant Jesus School and St. Louis High School. She then worked in the payroll department at J. F. McElwain Shoe.

Claire was a lifelong communicant of St. John XXIII Infant Jesus Church in Nashua. She was highly involved with the parish, and was an active member of the St. Anne Society, the Social Life Community, and the Bereavement Community. She was a caring and loving woman in all facets of her life, but there was nothing she cared for more than her family. Claire found great joy in knitting mittens and slippers for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed long car rides, going to Maine for lunch with her husband Bob, and spending time at the beach. Claire devoted her life to loving her family, she was their rock, and she did not take a single moment with them for granted.

She is survived by her three sons, Randal Dupont and his wife Tina of Nashua, Richard Dupont of Nashua, and Timothy Dupont and his wife Mona of Nashua; two daughters, Denise Theriault and her husband Steve of Nashua, and Melissa Martin and her husband Paul of Nashua; seven grandchildren, Amy Thomas and her husband Mike, Krissy Kraus and her husband BJ, Heather Dawson and her husband Lenny, Jeff Dupont, Christopher Dupont, Alysha Martin and her fiancé Chris, and Bree Martin; eight great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ally, Steven, Trevor, Harper, Clara, Calvin and Alexandria; a brother, Raymond Desjardins and his wife Linda of Manchester; three step-sons, Robert Picard, Jr. and his wife Christine of FL, Roger Picard and his wife Cyndee of FL, and John Picard and his wife Mary of Nashua, as well as five step-daughters, Lucy Jenkins and her husband Tom of Nashua, Cathy Smith and her husband Dave of Nashua, Angie Smith and her husband Duane of Nashua, Jeanne Dunphy and her husband Curt of Nashua and Denise Ridgley of PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Claire is predeceased by her son Tom Dupont and her grandson Ryan Martin.

Relatives and friends are invited to Claire’s visitation at the ANCTIL-ROCHETTE AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua on Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. John XXIII Parish (Infant Jesus Church), 121 Allds St., Nashua. At the request of Claire’s family, PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
