Judith ‘Judy’ Closson

Judith “Judy” Closson, 74, of 2 Thresher Road, Nashua died on Monday June 18th, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by family.

Mrs. Closson was born on March 4th, 1944 in Utica, N.Y. a daughter of the late Frederick and Julia Davis. She had been a resident of Nashua, NH for the past 35 years.

In 1966, she married her lifelong sweetheart Charles “Chuck” Closson and the two were married for 38 wonderful years until Chuck’s passing in February of 2005. She raised four sons and actively spoiled her nine grandchildren.

Judy was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College and worked for the phone company for a number of years. After moving to New Hampshire, Judy quickly got involved at the Parrish of the Resurrection, ultimately overseeing their youth religious education program for many years. She loved working with the church and helping children learn about the faith and complete their sacraments. Whether it was organizing First Communion services or designing Christmas nativity masses her work with the church was a real passion of hers.

Judy’s warm engaging personality and legendary story telling will be missed. She loved spending time with family and friends and sharing a laugh. She is survived by her four sons and daughter-in-laws, Thomas M. and Denise Closson of Nashua, Patrick C. and Angela Closson of Lee, John F. and Amy Closson of Exeter, and James F. and Darlene Closson of Nashua.; nine grandchildren Courtney, Tim, Jack, Emily, Alexander, Catherine, Stanley, Audrey and Sawyer; Brother James and Virginia Davis of Bristol, RI; Sister-in-law Lucille Closson of South Grafton, MA; and three nieces and three nephews.

SERVICES: Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 20 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, June 21 at 9:30AM, also at the Parish of the Resurrection. Burial will immediately follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Amherst St., Nashua.
