Donald E. Carter Jr.

NASHUA-Donald E. Carter, Jr. 82, died peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia I. (Levesque) Carter.

Donald was born in Boston, MA on September 24, 1935 and was the son of the late Donald E. Sr. and Helen M. (Long) Carter.

He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force, member of the elite SAC unit.

For many years, Donald was employed as an executive for Microwave Associates and later Kaye Instruments in Bedford, MA, where he retired from. Following his retirement, Donald worked part time for the Nashua School System in various positions.

Donald and his wife enjoyed world traveling making sure to visit many various locations.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #0098 in Merrimack. He was an avid hunter, football fan and enjoyed woodworking. He also spent time volunteering at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Michele Sayers and her husband Mark of Nashua and his son David D. Carter and his longtime companion Debra Nelson of Hudson; his six grandchildren, Jason Duval and Ryan Duval and his wife Amanda, Jonathan Carter and Joseph Carter; Courtney Nelson and Amanda Nelson; as well as his ten great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law, Michael Levesque and his wife Patricia of Canada and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donald’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Donald and his family during his time with them.

Relatives and friends are invited to Donald’s Funeral Mass on TUESDAY, June 5th at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment and military honors will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald’s name to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
