James G. Abbott

James G. Abbott, 78 of Homosassa, FL went to be with the Lord May 28, 2018. He was born February 6, 1940 in Rome, NY to Samuel and Leona (Abess) Abbott. He grew up in Clark Mills, NY, later served in the US Air Force. He received a Business Management degree from LaSalle University. He was employed by UniFirst Corp. as a General Manager in Nashua, NH and then a traveling Mentor until his retirement in 2015.

He leaves behind his bride of 33 years, Roxanne (Gagnon), his children, John Abbott and Jane Head of FL, David Abbott of NH, James Abbott and Janelle of Indiana, Rachel Abbott Fern and Michael of CA and daughter in law Diana Abbott of NH, as well as grandchildren Nichole, Alexis, Brandon, Drew and Gavin. Granddaughter Hailey predeceased.

Also surviving are Jim’s sisters, Doris Curtis, Patricia Famolaro and husband Michael, and Sandra Famolaro (husband Robert predeceased). Brother Frederick predeceased. He also leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Family was very important to Jim. He thoroughly enjoyed having family visit him at camp in NH. He loved fishing, but really enjoyed hosting his famous fish fries. He also really enjoyed time with friends playing trivia. Studying the word of God at Nature’s Independent Church in Homosassa, FL and Big Island Pond Baptist Church in Hampstead, NH was very important to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday June 4th at 10 AM at Nature’s Independent Church, 10359 W Halls River Rd, Homosassa, FL.
